Karen and Frank prepared to leave for their secret vacation, but Chris found Karen before they left. Karen nailed Chris for stalking her, and told him that she was finally going to give him what he wanted. Thinking she meant something sexual, Chris was excited. His excitement turned to chagrin when Karen declared that she was going to allow him to perform medical experiments on her. He quickly rebounded and reminded her that they would need to spend a lot of time together. Karen said that wasn't a problem, but reminded him that Frank could never know about what had happened to her. When they left, Chris called the resort they were staying at to find out if there was an extra room available.
Alison and Jack went to the Hartman's to ask for their help in obtaining Hope's DNA. Alison confessed that she was dating a man whom she suspected could be Hope's father. She told them that if they knew the truth, at least they would have knowledge of Hope's full medical history. The Hartman's generously told her that Hope had been born prematurely, so there was no way that Jamal could be her father. Alison and Jack celebrated, and Alison raced back to Jamal's arms. Valerie watched pensively as the two embraced. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hartman fretted to her husband that they hadn't told Alison the truth: Hope really hadn't been born prematurely at all.
Livvie found Rafe talking to himself on the footbridge and asked him what was going on. Rafe told her that he found that talking out his problems often helped him solve them. He asked if something was wrong with her, and she admitted that she had been losing chunks of time and memory. Sensing that there was more to the story, Rafe pressed her to try and recover her memories. Caleb suddenly appeared and declared that Livvie would remember only what he wanted her to. Realizing that Caleb was influencing Livvie to work for him, Rafe tried to break through to her without directly telling her the truth. When Caleb interfered and Livvie slipped back under his spell, Rafe stated that he was going to tell Livvie exactly what was going on. Before he could open his mouth, Rafe was suddenly spirited away. A smirking Caleb reminded Livvie that she was his, and that they belonged together forever
